The Two New Star Wars Shows We’ll be Seeing in 2024
Earlier this week Disney+ UK confirmed in a press release that we can expect to see 2 new Star Wars shows in 2024. Before the Strike at one point or another Disney+ had confirmed 5 Star Wars shows to be coming out in 2024: the second and final season of Andor, the third and final season of The Bad Batch, and the second season of Tales of the Jedi, Skeleton Crew, and The Acolyte. Of those 5 shows only 2 are confirmed for 2024: Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte. We don’t know much about either of these shows but I’ll try to summarize everything we do know for you now.
The Acolyte will star Lee Jung-jae and Amandla Stenberg as Jedi Master and Apprentice respectively. The show takes place approximately 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, during the high republic era. The show is a mystery thriller that follows a former padawan (Amandla Stenberg) as she unites with her old master (Lee Juang-jae) to investigate some recent crimes that end up being more disturbing than either of them could have ever imagined.
The Skeleton Crew is a coming of age story that follows a group of kids stranded in the vast emptiness of outer space, attempting to find their way home, after an accident on their homeworld. The show takes place during the same time as the Mandalorian, right after the events of The Empire Strikes Back. There will be 8 episodes and the first episode was filed with the United States Copyright Office and indicated an approximate window of January 2024. However there has been no official release date announced so this is uncertain.
That’s all we know about the Star Wars shows officially coming out in 2024. However, it is possible that we will see the Bad Batch season 3 soon as the head writer, Jennifer Corbett, posted on her twitter that they had just finished the final mixing session. It is possible that Disney is waiting to tie up loose ends before officially announcing the release of the final season.
