All Star Wars Content releasing in 2025
In the grand scheme of things, 2025 is shaping up to be a relatively light year for Star Wars fans. However, that may not necessarily be a bad thing. With The Mandalorian & Grogu movie set for release in early 2026, it’s probably best that Lucasfilm focuses its energy on that project rather than spreading itself too thin by trying to release a slew of new content. That being said, there’s still plenty to look forward to in 2025.
One of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, Andor Season 2, is set to premiere on April 22, 2025. The season will span 12 years, divided into three acts, each covering a specific timeframe with significant time gaps between them. The finale will lead directly into Rogue One. While it's bittersweet to see what many consider the best live-action Star Wars series come to an end, it’s reassuring to know it will reach a satisfying conclusion.
Apart from Andor and the final two episodes of Skeleton Crew that debuted in January, there will be no more live-action Star Wars releases this year. However, the animated side of things will see some updates. Young Jedi Season 2, Part 2 is scheduled for release sometime in early 2025, though an official date has yet to be announced. Given that Part 1 dropped back in August 2023, we can expect the second part to arrive sooner rather than later.
In November 2024, it was confirmed that Star Wars Visions Volume 3 will also be released in 2025. While no official release date has been set, considering it’s produced by a Japanese studio, it’s likely the series will be tied to Star Wars Celebration in Japan this April.
Beyond film and TV, there are some highly anticipated Star Wars books coming this year. The Crystal Crown, a sequel to the 2024 young adult novel, follows characters Yord and Jackie through their adventures in the High Republic era. Another exciting release is The Mask of Fear, the first book in a new trilogy featuring Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera.
So far, this is all we know about Star Wars content slated for 2025. It’s a relatively sparse year, especially compared to the jam-packed previous years. However, with the Star Wars Celebration right around the corner in April, we may receive some exciting new announcements for additional content in 2025. Stay tuned!
