Knights of the Old Republic Disney Plus Show

Knights of the Old Republic is one of the most cherished video games in the Star Wars universe. Despite its immense popularity, it has yet to be adapted into a film or TV series, until now. It seems Disney has finally recognized the potential of this iconic story and is working to bring it to a wider audience.

While rumors about a Knights of the Old Republic adaptation have circulated for years, this time the information has come from a reputable source. Daniel Richtman, who’s a well-known and very reliable industry insider (almost every fact he’s leaked has come true to date) just posted to his Patreon that "Lucasfilms developing a show set during Knight of the Old Republic era."

Given the wording of this statement, it’s unlikely that the show will be a direct remake of the game, which could work to its advantage. It’s definitely for the best that this show is only inspired by the game instead of trying to directly replicate it as Film adaptations of games have a fairly awful track record, The Last of Us being a rare exception. and it is unlikely that a TV show could truly do this game justice. However, that’s not to say we still won’t see some of our favorite characters or places show up in the show.

Knights of the Old Republic is a game where the character’s actions directly influence the plot and its outcome, thus creating different possible timelines for this show to take place within. It’ll be interesting to see what route the writers take when creating this show. However, until we get more information, this is nothing but speculation as we wait for more concrete details to emerge.
