Ahsoka Tano Lightsaber duel

Everything You Need to Know About Ahsoka from Star Wars

Throughout the Star Wars universe, there are many characters that often go unnoticed in the main film series. While the average viewer may overlook details and plotlines beyond the Skywalker Saga, truly dedicated fans have many favorite characters that make the larger universe much more exciting and rich.

One of those titular characters is the strong female presence of Ahsoka, a young Padawan of Anakin Skywalker. As our expert team at SabersPro is about to release a new lightsaber honoring this incredible Star Wars character, we thought it a good idea to give a little background into who she is and how she fits into the universe.

A Little Background

Ahsoka Tano is a Togruta Jedi that we first encounter in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where she is introduced as Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan. Through her actions during the Clone Wars, we begin to see her fighting style, including how she acquired her nickname “Snips” from Yoda during the Battle of Christophsis.

Even though Ahsoka was born on the planet Shili, she was raised inside the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Her character development is owed in part to George Lucas and Dave Filoni, who was a supervising director and writer on The Clone Wars.

You can see more of Ahsoka from her appearances in Star Wars Rebels under the codename “Fulcrum” and even a live-action spot from a voice-over in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, where most fans encounter this incredible character is during the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian.

Getting to Know Ahsoka

During Mando’s fight against Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth (played by Diana Lee Inosanto) on Corvus, Tano joins up to help. She had just refused to train “The Child,” but is the reason we learn of his true name Grogu because she can communicate with him.

At this point, Ahsoka is in partial hiding after the fall of the Jedi Council. Her faith in the Jedi was damaged during a fight with Darth Maul and when Darth Sidious enacted Order 66. You have to remember that Ahsoka saw how Anakin slowly became something tainted by the Dark Side. She is more than aware of what can happen when a Jedi trains the wrong student and doesn’t want to be responsible for another such mistake with young Grogu.

It’s essential to take note here that there is a strong future for Ahsoka. The casting of Rosario Dawson to play the uniquely looking character inspired by Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke was brilliant.

Not only can you expect to see more of Ahsoka in The Mandalorian season 3, but there will likely be a spinoff series focused on her battles and love life. Besides the emotional side of the character, she has a unique background, having forged her own lightsaber and received training from such powerful Jedi.

What about Her Lightsaber

Why did we decide to create a unique lightsaber that is coming out soon while basing it on Ahsoka’s life? She often leverages a reverse lightsaber grip on her primary weapon. She is known to use dual-wielding sabers in some appearances. This lends her fighting style to a mix between Japanese samurai and some schools of Bujinkan, which is often associated with Ninjutsu.

That is why we have carefully crafted blue lightsabers in her honor for anyone to enjoy. Whether you want to dress up as Ahsoka for cosplay events or add a truly inspiring lightsaber to your collection, our expert team at SabersPro is here to help. Check out our latest offerings today, and keep a close eye on our blog for upcoming news about this exciting character.
