Biography:
Anakin Skywalker was born on Tatooine to a mother named Shimi and an unknown father. He and his mother were slaves to a junk dealer named Watto. One day when a Jedi Knight named Qui-Gon Jinn, a Gungan named Jar-Jar Binks, and a handmaiden from Naboo named Padme visited Watto’s shop to find parts for their broken starship they ran into Anakin. The visitors couldn’t afford the parts they needed but Anakin devised a plan to help them: he would enter the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace and give the winnings to his new found friends. Unbeknownst to Anakin, Qui-Gon also made a bet with Watto saying that if Anakin won he could be free. Anakin won the race and was freed. Qui-Gon invited Anakin to leave Tatooine and begin his Jedi training in Coruscant. Anakin agreed, though he was nervous to be leaving his mother behind. Yoda sensed this fear when Anakin applied to enter the Jedi academy, and it was this fear that was the cause of his rejection from the academy. Despite this setback, Qui-Gon agreed to take Anakin under his wing and have him shadow the Jedi in lieu of actual training. Shadowing Qui-Gon, Anakin traveled to Naboo along with Obi Wan Kenobi, Jar Jar Binks, and Padme to stop the Trade Federation from invading. At this battle, Qui-Gon died fighting the Sith Lord Darth Maul and as his dying with asked Obi Wan to train Anakin. The Jedi Order agreed and Anakin began his training under Obi Wan.
After 10 years of training, Anakin was shaping up to be a formidable jedi. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, now a close friend of Anakin, assigned Anakin and Obi Wan to protect Senator Padme after an assassination attempt on her life. Anakin was very happy with this assignment as he had been in love with Padme for the last 10 years, despite the Jedi Code forbidding attachments. While protecting Padme, Anakin began to have dreams that his mother was dying. Obi Wan ordered Anakin to stay on Naboo to protect Padme and ignore the dreams he was having about his mother. However, Anakin ignored this and traveled to Tatooine to save his mother. However he was too late and when he got there she died in his arms. Overcome with grief, Anakin threw away all his Jedi training and began to give into the darkside, slaughtering all of his mothers kidnappers. He buried his mother and then left for Geonosis to rescue Obi Wan from a Separatist prison. Anakin and Padme were captured and also imprisoned along with Obi Wan. The three of them were all sentenced to death. Right before they were executed, the Jedi’s new Clone Army flew in and saved the gang. While escaping, Obi Wan and Anakin encountered the Separatist leader Count Dooku. They attempted to battle him but he was too strong, cutting off Anakin’s arm. Luckily, Yoda arrived right before Dooku was about to deliver a finishing blow to Anakin and saved the young Jedi and his master. After recovering from his injuries, Anakin traveled to Naboo where he and Padme were secretly married.
With the Clone Wars officially underway after the battle on Geonosis, the Jedi became generals in a war against the Separatists. To aid Anakin in this war, Yoda assigned Anakin a Padawan: Ahsoka Tano. Anakin and Ahsoka became fast friends and were a team to be reckoned with during the Clone Wars. They had many adventures together and as Ahsoka matured so did Anakin. Due to being falsely accused of a crime, Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, never to return. Anakin missed his Padawan greatly and became a very lonely and disillusioned man.
Towards the end of the Clone Wars anakin learned that his wife, Padme, was pregnant. He began having nightmares that Padme would die in childbirth. Determined to prevent this, Anakin turned to the dark side for help, having heard a Sith Legend that spoke of the ability to stop death. Chancellor Palpatine revealed himself as a Sith Lord, Darth Sidious and promised to train Anakin in the ways of the dark side. Determined to learn how to save Padme, Anakin killed his former ally, Jedi Mace Windu, to protect Sidious. Darth Sidious took in Anakin as his apprentice, giving him the Title of Darth Vadar and the job of destroying the Jedi. Anakin did as his new master requested, entering the Jedi Temple and slaughtering every Jedi he saw, including the kids. Anakin then traveled to Mustafar and killed all the separatist leaders, officially putting an end to the clone wars. On Mustafar, he was confronted by Padme and Obi Wan who urged him to calm down and return home. He denied their requests, having tasted great power he was unable to give it up. Padme was repulsed and feeling betrayed, Anakin began using the force to choke her. Padme was left unconscious and Anakin and his former master Obi Wan battled. In the end, Anakin lost and was left unconscious in the lava of Mustafar, burning to death. The Emperor saved Anakin, encasing him in black armor to keep him alive. More machine than man, Anakin was fueled by anger and grief. Anger at his former master for mutilating him and grief for his wife, who had died during childbirth.
As Darth Vadar, Anakin was a ruthless leader. He spread terror and suffering throughout the galaxy without remorse. He destroyed whole planets without so much as a second thought. However, the hero that he once was was never truly lost, instead buried under all his anger. When his son, Luke Skywalker, was battling Darth Sidious, the young Jedi’s compassion for his father awakened the good still within Anakin. He sacrificed himself to allow Luke to kill the Emperor and free the galaxy from the oppressive imperial rule. Having reawakened the Jedi within himself, as Anakin died, he was reabsorbed into the force and reunited with his old friends Yoda and Obi Wan as a force ghost, now watching over Luke.
His Lightsaber:
Anakin Skywalker had three lightsabers in his lifetime. His first one was a green lightsaber that he constructed while he was a padawan under Obi Wan, however that one was destroyed on a droid factory assembly line on Geonosis. His next saber was a blue one which he used throughout the clone wars. Even when he turned to the dark side, Anakin continued to use this saber up until he battled Obi Wan on Mustafar. After defeating Anakin, Obi Wan took this lightsaber and gave it to Anakin’s son, Luke. His last saber was a black alloy replica of his original saber with a red kyber crystal. This Sith Saber was eventually lost in Anakin’s final duel against the Emperor.
Lightsaber Form
Anakin for the most part, used form V when dueling. He ended up modifying the form slightly to suit his fighting style. He made training videos for his new edited style that Ezra Bridger used to learn dueling. Form 5 is a pretty good balance of the defensive style of form 3 and the aggressive tactics of form 2. Form 5 is widely considered to be the most demanding lightsaber style.
