Ahsoka garners 5 Emmy Nominations!

Though it feels like the 75th Emmys just finished, the nominees for this year’s Emmy Awards were just announced and Star Wars: Ahsoka dominated the science fiction categories receiving 5 nominations!

It is nominated for Outstanding Period Or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Hairstyling alongside The Gilded Age, Shogun, Palm Royale, and Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. In a similar realm, it is also nominated for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup alongside Fallout, Shogun, The Witcher, and True Detective: Night Country. Staying close to that Ahsoka also received the nomination for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes alongside Echo, Fallout, Loki, and What We Do in the Shadows. The costume designer for Ahsoka, Shawna Trpcic, recently passed away at the young age of 56. She was a beloved member of the Lucas Films family and did the designs for many of the modern Star Wars TV shows. She was a lifelong Star Wars fan and her love of the franchise shined through in all of her designs. 

 Shifting towards the more technology centered awards, it is nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie. Other nominees in this category include the live action Avatar the Last Airbender, Fallout, Loki, and Shogun. Finally, Ahsoka’s last nomination is for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (Half-Hour) And Animation alongside Blue Eye Samurai, Only Murders in the Building, the Bear, and Star Trek: Lower Decks.
